The city of Torrevieja entices visitors with sea, sand and sangria, lazy days in the sun and partying till dawn. Situated on Spain’s beautiful Costa Blanca, Torrevieja has been a popular holiday destination for decades, and those that have been visiting this vibrant city for some time will surely have fond, but maybe somewhat foggy memories of Pacha Nightclub. Sadly the famous Pacha is no more, but don’t despair, like a phoenix from the ashes it has risen again in the form of Discoteca OZ.
Located on Av. Delfina Viudes on the outskirts of the city, OZ is relatively easy to find. The most popular area of the city is the picturesque promenade that runs along Playa del Cura beach and from here, next to the Burger King is Calle Apolo. If you take this road it runs up from the beach through the city and after about a 15 minute walk becomes Av. de las Cortes Valencianas. From here you can turn left at either Calle Bautista Bertomeu Sober or Calle Josefa Rebollo Rodriguez. Both of these roads take you to Av. Delfina Viudes where you turn right and OZ is just a bit further along. Look left when you are on this road and you will see the large Aquopolis Water Park which has some thrilling rides and slides, perfect for blowing away the cobwebs after a night of drinking and dancing in the club.
Discoteca OZ has come a long way since its days as Pacha and boasts a fantastic sound system, laser and light shows, and some of Costa Blanca’s finest Dj’s pumping out the tunes until 7am. As is the case with quite a few of Torrevieja’s nightclubs, OZ only opens its doors at midnight, and other than in the peak summer season, is mainly frequented by young Spanish locals. Friday is Foam Party night and throughout the season the club pulls in the punters with a variety of live acts, theme nights and guest Dj’s. For private groups and special occasions there is a comfortable VIP room, and the club has a rooftop terrace, perfect for a cooling break after strutting your stuff on the dance floor. Great news for the older clubbers out there, OZ now has an over 21’s bar, a clever idea which will hopefully bring in more of the city’s middle age residents and holidaymakers, giving the club a more cosmopolitan feel.
