Habaneras Shopping Centre
When the sun sets over the Mediterranean, the vibrant city of Torrevieja gears up for night time revelry. Evenings in the city, especially during the summer months, are all about getting out, enjoying the cooling sea breeze along the pretty promenade, taking a stroll through the Night Market and maybe having a meal and doing a bit of shopping in one of Torrevieja’s excellent commercial centres. The city offers a great selection of evening activities and many bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a free snack in one of the numerous tapas bars or splash out on a fantastic seafood platter whilst enjoying sea views from the restaurant terrace. There is a nightly fun fair in the harbour area and the large Habaneras Shopping Centre stays open until 10.00pm.
Located on the corner of Avenida Rosa Mazón Valero and the CV-905 dual carriageway, the Habaneras Shopping Centre is about a 15 minute walk from the city centre and can also be reached by taking the Torreta Bus (route B) from the main bus terminal. The centre has ample parking including bays for bicycles, motorcycles, maternity and disabled vehicles. Part of the centre is a 9 screen IMF cinema complex and a large Carrefour Hypermarket. Before catching a movie you can get a bite to eat in nearby KFC, American Pizza or Burger King. Also great fun for kids and adults is the exciting Ozone Bowling & Leisure Centre, located on the other side of Avenida Rosa Mazón Valero from Habaneras.
Set over 3 levels, Habaneras offers seating areas, plants and fountains among its 60 shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Included in the shops are some well known high street brands such as Mango, Zara, Jack & Jones, Sunglass Hut, Guess, Pull & Bear, Toy Planet, H&M, Puma and Zippy. After you shop till you drop you can kick back in one of the centres bars and cafés that include Vaini, Sirvent Miralles, El Rincón del Café and the popular 100 Montaditos that serve an excellent choice of tapas from as little as 1€ For a more elaborate meal there are restaurants such as Gino’s, Fosters Hollywood and Lizarran. The Spanish like to enjoy themselves late into the night and Habaneras Shopping Centre is open from 10.00am to 10.00pm daily and the restaurants and underground parking close at 01.00am. Don’t despair if you stumble out of a late night bar or club with the munchies in the early hours, Torrevieja has a number of 24hr mini marts dotted around the city.
