There is loads of fun to be had in and around the city of Torrevieja, and a great evening out for many who visit is to enjoy a colourful and vibrant Flamenco show. The lovely Villa Salada is located just 5 kilometres from the city centre on the road to Crevillente (CV-905) Some of the larger bars and restaurants in Torrevieja and neighbouring Orihuela Costa host Flamenco shows, especially during the busy summer months. These can be anything from a duo comprising a classical guitarist and Flamenco dancer, to an entire band accompanied by a troupe of dancers. An evening at Villa Salada offers visitors a truly special experience as they also provide mesmerising Spanish horse shows to accompany the Flamenco dancers in the largest act of its kind on the Costa Blanca.
This beautiful traditional villa is set in large tropical gardens offering panoramic views of the salt lakes and comfortable outdoor terraces set around a central stage and performing arena. The impressive Restarante Mesón and its buffet serving area sits in the middle of the terraces, so guests won’t miss any of the performances, even while dishing up a lovely plate of paella. The large buffet offers a wide selection of dishes, as well as children’s favourites. If there is nothing that catches your eye, Restaurante Mesón has a delicious a la carte menu featuring both local and international cuisine.
There are a variety of spectacular shows that combine traditional Flamenco dancing and dressage performed by magnificent Andalusian horses. Accompanied by passionate Spanish music and a colourful light show, this is an evening not to be missed. The villa and marquee have a seating capacity for up to 700 people and can host all sorts of events and celebrations such as weddings, birthdays and business conferences.
Flamenco & Dressage Shows are held on Friday and Saturday evenings from May until September and dinner starts from 8pm. As of 2015 the prices for a Friday VIP menu and show are 55€. Villa Salada menu and show 45€. Show only and 1 drink 28€. Children’s menu and show 25€. show only and 1 drink 14€. Saturday evenings offer a similar show and menu choice at a slightly cheaper price. For visitors during the autumn and winter months, there is a Flamenco and dinner show every Saturday from September until May (no dressage show) VIP menu and show are 45€. Villa Salada menu and show 35€. Show only 10€. Children’s menu and show 15€. Show only 10€. Children over 12 years will be charged as adults and there are discount prices for groups of 20 or more. The restaurant is open all year round, Monday to Sunday from 11am to 11pm.
Attached to Villa Salada is a large and well run Equestrian Centre that offer temporary and annual livery in their 42 stalls. There is a riding school for children aged between 7 and 11 and facilities for lunging, show jumping and dressage. For visitors that just fancy a bit of riding, the centre has direct access to the salt lake and surrounding natural park where they offer picturesque rides and hacks along the area’s various trails.
